Daily Mom-ME Moment #24 Make Room For The New ... Cont. From Yesterday

So yesterday for our Mom-ME Moment we all cleaned out our closets. We re-folded our folded clothes and straightened the hangers. We freshened up everything and made our closets nice and neat.

So today is Wednesday and the day I’m supposed to weigh in. A few things have happened this week that I’d love to share with you ...

Daily Mom-ME Moment #23
Clean Out The Old & Make Room For The New!

Today’s Mom-ME Moment is a little different than we’re used to. Today is actually PART ONE of a TWO PART moment ... and I’m sorry to say, today’s moment is going to involve some work!

Normally we just have fun dancing or hula hooping ... but for today, I felt like actually getting something done. I wanted to enjoy that feeling of accomplishment. So we’re going to do some work today, but then feel amazing when we’re done.

So what work am I taking about?

Daily Mom-ME Moment #21
Just Dance!

This past weekend was a wonderfully crazy weekend in my house. I didn’t have the opportunity to check in at all with my blog and all my friends ... I hope you all had amazing weekends too!

We had our annual dance recital this weekend. All 3 of my kids participated this year.

My littlest Emily had her Princess Ballet ... which was more adorable than words can say!! Then my middle Shayna and my oldest William both dance together for Hip Hop and Acro. All 3 kids did amazing and I’m so super proud of them!!

Daily Mom-ME Moment #20
It’s Fun Friday! Let’s Puddle Jump!

I can’t believe this is already my 4th Fun Friday! The past 4 weeks writing my Daily Mom-ME Moment have been awesome! Thank you so much to my readers who take their moments with me ... and get silly with me on Fun Friday!

Hmmm ... So what can we do today for fun?

It’s raining here. It’s grey and not so pretty outside. Now some people would feel down because of the gloomy weather.  But not me! I’m just too darn happy for that!

Daily Mom-ME Moment #19
MMM ... Strawberries!

Yeay! Summer is here! And I don’t know what I’m more excited about ... the kiddies being out of school for a few months (... not worrying about homework and getting to sleep in... ) or that it’s strawberry season!

We eat strawberries in our house year round ... but through the winter, the strawberries from the store really are not that great. However ... come mid to end June, and the strawberries get sooo good!

Weigh-In Wednesday #2
I'm so excited! I passed the plateau!

I’ve been waiting all day for the peace and quiet in my house so that I can write this post.

I’m super excited to announce that I broke the 140 lb. mark! Yeay!! That’s a BIG thing for me! 140 is always a tough one for me to get past. That’s the spot where I normally plateau.

Since I can remember, the lowest weight that I’ve been was in my 1st trimester with my son 9 years ago. I couldn’t eat. Everything just came right back up again!

Pregnancy ... it’s a great weight loss program!

Daily Mom-ME Moment #18
Write. Blog. Journal.

I gotta tell ya ... I’ve been dabbling with blogging for years now, but I never really got it. Blogging never really clicked for me ... until recently.

I used to blog for different affiliate products, and basically turned into a sales person using blogging as my marketing method. Guess what the result was .. I made ZERO dollars ... and I didn’t really enjoy it. I was going at it all wrong.

3 1/2 weeks ago I made a huge change. I actually started blogging just for the fun of it!   I started writing my Daily Mom-ME Moments purely for enjoyment ... and now I really love it!

Daily Mom-ME Moment #17
Get Sexy ... Just For Yourself

A few posts ago I wrote about a major change that happens when we have kids ... we have to give up our cute little car and ‘upgrade’ to a mini-van!

Another change that happens to most of us after having kids is we give up the sexy lingerie ... and settle for plain, boring, white, everyday, not-pretty-at-all bras.

Yes ... they serve a purpose. They keep the girls where they need to be. And after having kids, we need all the extra support we can get!

And sometimes ... after the kids are sleeping ... if we’re in a good mood, hubby will get lucky and we’ll put on a cute, sultry little number just for him.

Daily Mom-ME Moment #16
It's All About The Purse!

Happy Monday Mommies! I hope you had a wonderful Father’s Day weekend!!

Do you love purses? I LOVE purses! I know a lady who hooks me up with awesome designer purses ... for real cheap! She’s my BFF for sure!!

Once I get a new purse, I normally stick with it for a few months. I’m not one who changes my purse everyday. I don’t have time for that! And I can just imagine how often I would leave home forgetting something super important!

Who kidding who moms ... our purses are filled with important things!

Happy Father’s Day! Let’s
Celebrate With Fun ... Not Food!

Today is Father’s Day ... and it’s a time to say THANK YOU to all the amazing daddies out there who work so hard supporting us mommies, so that we can do what we need to do.
Here's my Family!
My hubby Martin, and
my kiddies, William,
Shayna & Emily!

Let’s celebrate DAD’s today!

Talking about celebrating ... an amazing thing happened to me this morning ...

In the past, whenever there was something to celebrate, my mind would immediately go to food. For example ... for a birthday, or father’s day, I would make a special celebration breakfast with pancakes, bacon and eggs, and we would eat lots of cake throughout the day.

Whenever something special happened, like losing a tooth or a great report card, we would celebrate with food. Perhaps a special dinner.

Even if it was just going out with friends. It would always revolve around food!

I don’t know why? I guess I was just brought up that. When you celebrate, you eat!

I realized something today ... it’s NOT about the food!

OMG!! I'm Craving ... Broccoli??!!

Ummm .... why is it that I have a big tray of rice krispie treats sitting right here, but all I want to eat is the fresh broccoli that’s in the fridge?

I know it’s not Wednesday, and normally I post with my Weigh-In Wednesdays, but I was just so excited ... and a littler perplexed by what I’m feeling ... that I had to post this today!

Thank You to YOU!

Just wanted to send a quick shout out to all my new friends and followers!  I started this blog just 3 short weeks ago ... and I set myself a goal.  I wanted to reach 100 followers by the end of my 4th week.

Well ... You all helped me reach my goal 1 week early!  Thank you thank you!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend filled with lots of fun Mom-ME Moments!

Be back on Monday!  I've got tons of fun things planned for next week's Moments!

Daily Mom-ME Moment #15
All Queens Need A Tiara!

It’s FUN Friday! Yeay!  I LOVE Friday because we get to be silly and have fun with our Daily Mom-ME Moment! I know ... I know ... We have fun everyday ... but on Friday’s we get to be a little extra silly!

So for FUN Friday this week ... I think today we should all be Queens! For just a few minutes, we should all wear Tiaras!

Daily Mom-ME Moment #14
Change It Up A Little!

Hey Moms! Let’s talk hair for a few minutes!

I used to love doing my hair! Sometimes I’d have it really long and I’d have fun playing around with different styles ... and then a few times I got really brave and chopped it all off.

Yes ... before I had kids I used to really enjoy playing around with different hair styles!

Weigh In Wednesday #1

Hooray!! I made it through my very first week on my Weight Loss Journey!

I am so excited because the program that I’m following is actually doing what it said it would! (how often does that actually happen??!!)

Here’s why I’m so excited:

Daily Mom-ME Moment #13
Let's Play!

Perhaps you’ve noticed I’m a little later than usual with my post today. I took some time this morning to just shut down ... and it was wonderful!

My mind is always working ... as I’m sure yours is too! I’m constantly thinking about my blog ... what to post next ... how to gain more followers ... what new blogs can I follow. I’m constantly thinking about the pile of laundry building up ... and what I’m going to make for dinner.

Sound familiar? We’re moms. It’s how we work!

Daily Mom-ME Moment #12
I Smell Pretty!

I love perfume. I’m by no means a perfume collector, but I love to smell pretty!

I think it’s so nice when ladies walk by and you catch a whiff of a pretty smell. I don’t like when ladies over do it, and you’re stuck in a room where all you can smell is their perfume. Then it’s overkill. But when used right, perfume is so wonderful!

Daily Mom-ME Moment #11
Send Yourself Flowers!

A bouquet of Pink RosesA few weeks ago, my doorbell rang in the middle of the day. This very rarely happens! In the evening or weekends, my doorbell rings non-stop with the neighbor kids coming to play with my kiddies ... but during the day when they’re in school, no one pops by.

So when the doorbell rang I was a little surprised. (Of course, I was still in my jammies!!)

As I opened the door I smelled the most beautiful smell. I had been sent flowers!! How sweet!! (It turned out my dad and step-mom had sent me the flowers. They were for Mother’s Day, but they’re so cute, they sent them early so I would be surprised ... and so I could enjoy them throughout the whole Mother’s Day weekend.)

It was so wonderful getting flowers! My favorite is carnations. I like them because they come in so many colours, they smell super yummy, and they last the longest!

Daily Mom-ME Moment #10
Go For A Sexy Test Drive!

Yeay! It’s FUN Friday! I love Fun Friday! So for today’s Mom-Me Moment, we’re gonna do something fun! Hope you’re ready ...

So I was thinking last night ... what is one of the major changes that happen, or sacrifices that we make, when we have kids?

I’ll tell you one ...

When we have kids, we give up our cute snazzy car, and trade it in for a min-van!

Let me tell ya ... I feel SUPER SEXY driving my mini-van!! Um ... NOT!

For the Mom-ME Moment today, let’s have some fun ladies! Let’s take ourselves to a local car dealership, without kids and car seats, and let’s test drive the snazziest, sexiest car there ... just for the fun of it!

My absolute favorite cars are the Jaguar XKR or the Aston Martin DB-9. When I have enough money, I’m going to buy myself one. It’s going to be my ‘going for lunch with the ladies’ car. It’s going to be awesome!! But for now, I’m stuck with my Toyota Sienna.

However, today I’m going to drive a sexy car! I don’t live near the city, so unfortunately, there are no Jaguar or Aston Martin dealerships around here. So I had a nice chat with my son William last night about which car I should test drive.

William loves cars. He’s an expert in them. And he loves reading my Mom-Me Moment. Each day he pulls up my site on his Ipad and checks out what I’m writing about. Hi William! I know you’re reading this!!

William suggested the Nissan 350Z. He says it’s a great car, and that’s the one that we should all go test drive. I checked it out. It looks like a really fun car!

However, when we talk about sexy cars, Subaru has done a great job with their latest advertising campaign! “Sexy comes Standard” according to their commercials. Have you seen them? They have ‘sexy’ sumo wrestlers on the hoods of the cars. Way to go Subaru! I think sexy now when I see your cars!

If you want a REALLY good laugh - watch this commercial:
Sexy Comes Standard on Subarus!

So yes ... Subarus are sexy too ... but I think for the purpose of this exercise, I want to drive a cute little sports car. So I’m off to Nissan to have some fun!

Have an awesome day Mommies!!
Ro :)

Join me? What car would you like to test drive?

Daily Mom-ME Moment #9 - Sit Outside While You Enjoy Your Morning Coffee Or Tea!

I need 2 things to start my day. First I need my chocolate milk. I’m addicted to it. I canNOT go a day without my chocolate milk. I have my glass every morning as I eat my oatmeal.

Second ... I need my tea. I drink a really energizing and yummy tea. I MUST have my tea to start my day or I simply cannot function.

I’ve just put the water on to boil, so my tea will be ready soon!
So why is today different than all other days?

For today ... I’m going to SIT, relax, and enjoy my tea!

Normally I have my tea right after the kids leave for school. (2 of them leave ... my youngest is still here with me). I drink my tea while doing the breakfast dishes, laundry, and all my other chores. I’m always so busy in the morning. I don’t really get to just sit and relax.

Today, I’m going to take my tea and sit on the porch outside. It’s a beautiful day here, and I’m going to enjoy it.

It’s time for you take a break too. Make yourself a cup of coffee or tea. Step away from the computer. Stop doing your chores. Pop a video in for the kids. Go sit outside for just a few minutes, relax, and enjoy. You deserve it!

Ro :)

ps ... how do you start your day?  Feel free to comment below ...

Daily Mom-ME Moment #8
Commit To Starting AND Getting It Done!

So I’m sitting here trying to decide what to write for the Daily Mom-Me Moment #8. And this one idea keeps popping into my head ... but then I just push it aside. Why? Because if I write it, I’m going to have to commit to it.

I started writing this post a few times, and deleted it. But now I’m going farther. I’m going to write about it ... and I WILL commit to following through!

For my Mom-ME Moment today, I’m going to finally commit to my weight loss program.

Is there something that you’ve been putting off doing? Do it today. Make it your Mom-Me Moment today. Commit to getting it done.

Here’s my story ...

I really only have about 10 - 15 pounds to lose. I’m already a size 6-8 ... I just want to tighten and tone up a bit ... and lose just a few pounds.

I have this amazing program that I’ve chosen, and I’m really excited to start it. So why have I had it sitting here for the past 2 weeks? Why have I been procrastinating starting?

I’ll tell you why ...

Because I know that it’s going to work! And here’s my problem with that ...

I love food. I love dessert. My weakness is cake! I LOVE cake! And I love to bake cookies ... and lick my fingers while I’m rolling the dough!

I know that after I start this program, I am no longer going to want these things.

For any of my readers who are struggling with their weight loss ... Did you get what I just said there?

I know that after I start this program, I am no longer going to want those things that are not good for me (but oh so yummy!!!)

The program that I’m going to start is not a diet, but rather a change in my habits and mindset. See ... I don’t believe that diets work because they are a struggle. You have to work hard at them. With diets, you have to force yourself to eat right, to count calories, and to exercise. So many people fail on diets because they have to try hard to succeed. And frankly ... that’s just too much work for me!

Sure, I believe we need to eat right and get more exercise in order to lose weight. But we shouldn't have to force ourselves to do these things. We just need to change our mindset to want to do what will help us lose the weight.

I’ve found this program called ‘Enjoying Weight Loss’ and it does just that. It’s an audio hypnosis program that I’m going to listen to on my headphones whenever I have a quiet moment in my day, or even as I fall asleep each night.

It works by re-programming our subconscious minds to WANT to do all the things necessary to lose weight. It programs our minds to:
  • make the right food choices
  • drink more water
  • be genuinely motivated to exercise.
So ... yes ... I’ve been putting off getting my program started because I know that once I start, I’m not going to want cake, cookies, and ice cream anymore. It’s going to eliminate all my cravings

But for my Mom-ME moment today, (and for the next few months) I’m going to put on those headphones and listen. I’m going to listen everyday. I’m going to re-program my mind to genuinely want to do all the right things to lose the weight. And I’m going to watch the pounds fly off ... effortlessly.

If you’re interested, this is by far the easiest and most successful weight loss program out there! Join me. Check it out -->> Enjoying Weight Loss

Ro :)

p.s.. Since I’m in a commitment mood ... I’m going to to commit to posting each week with a WEIGH-IN WEDNESDAY post. This will help me to commit to listening to my program and get my butt moving.

pps. Is there something that you’ve been putting off? For your Mom-ME Moment today, commit to getting it started! And feel free to share your thoughts and comments below!

Daily Mom-ME Moment #7
Go For A Thrill Ride!

Yesterday was an exciting day in our house. The kids had a PA Day, so we decided decided to take them to Canada’s Wonderland, the amusement park near us.

My kids have no fear! It’s so awesome to see them full of energy and excitement to try these crazy rides!! They did all their usual rides ... the upside down turny wooshy ides. Then tied something new. They did something yesterday that they’ve been wanting to do for years ...

It’s called Extreme Skyflyer. They get strapped into a harness and lifted up, face down, 153 feet in the air. They pull a cord and basically fall to the ground. Then they swing around for a few minutes. At 6 and 8 years old ... I can’t believe they had the guts (or chutzpa as my Bubbie would say) to do this. But they did! And they loved it!

And my son was so excited to try the new ride, WindSeeker, which was finally open yesterday! We had a great time.

But what does this have to do with the Mom-Me Moment?

I gotta tell ya ... my kids certainly do not get their love of roller coasters from me. It must have come from my hubby. I’m really not a big roller coaster fan. But ... of course ... as a good mom, I let them drag me on one. I just went on Vortex - which is not one of those crazy up-side down ones. But it’s still a good fast coaster. It’s a good ride!

So as I’m strapped into my seat, and whooshing through the air ... going up and down and all around ... nothing else matters. For just a moment, it was just ME - feeling the wind in my hair, the butterflies in my tummy, and having fun!

You should try it. For your Mom-ME Moment, go to your local fair or amusement park and take a ride! Enjoy the moment. You deserve to have a little fun!

Ro :)

p.s. Do you like roller coasters? Do your kids? What’s your favorite ride?

Daily Mom-ME Moment #6
Shower ... TWICE!

OK Moms. I know this happens to all of us! We get so wrapped up in tending to the family, that we forget to take care of ourselves.

We forget the basic essentials of life.

I’ve spoken with many moms about this and I know that it happens. Three days can go by and we completely forget to shower!

Today ... for my Daily Mom-ME Moment, I’m going to shower ... twice!

I love to shower. I find that I do my best thinking while showering. That seems to be where I have my best brainstorm ideas for my website, or anything else that I’m working on.

Some people have their ‘spots’ where they do their best thinking. Mine is the shower.

But still I’ll admit it. I don’t get to shower everyday. Sometimes it’s just because the day flies by so fast that I don’t get around to it, and other times it’s because my kids are all over me.

There is no privacy in my house! Whenever my little one hears the water turning on, she rips off all her clothes and jumps in with me.

But today ... I am locking the door. I am going to shower 2 times today ... just because I can! It’s my moment. It’s my ME moment, and I'm going to take it! I deserve to shower in peace!

Take yours. Enjoy your shower today!

Ro :)

ps ... I switched my blog to blogger over the weekend, and started a new Facebook page.  I'd love some new followers!  I promise to send ya a cute and entertaining Mom-ME moment each day ... and I will follow back within 24 hours.

Yes! We All Deserve A Break! Thanks For Your Comments!

Thank you!  Yesterday I posed the question ... should DAILY include weekends, and yes, you gave me the answer I was hoping for .

We all deserve a break!

Should DAILY include weekends? I’m leaning towards taking weekends off. We all deserve a little break I think, don’t ya think?

Daily Mom-ME Moment #5 - Try Hula Hooping ?!

The other day, while I was chatting with some other moms during my daughter’s dance class, something new caught my eye and attention.

During my daughter’s Princess Dance class on Tuesday mornings, (which by the way is the most adorable 30 minutes of my week ... but that’s a whole different story!!) there’s an extra room at the dance studio which is normally left empty.

So a few weeks ago, a group of ladies came in to use this empty room while we were sitting watching our ‘little princesses’.

These ladies each came in with the most beautiful hula hoops I had ever seen! They were wrapped in different colored ribbons, and all sparkly ... and oh so pretty!

Then these ladies turned on their music and started to all hula hoop together! It was amazing!! I guess I was a little out of the loop (uh hem ...no pun intended!) because I didn’t even realize that hula hooping is now the hottest exercise craze!

And I can totally see why it’s becoming so popular. Hula hooping is an incredible core workout! And the hula hoops that they’re coming out these days are absolutely beautiful!

I sat there watching these ladies doing all these incredible tricks ... lifting the hoop over the head and turning around ... and doing so many other amazing things. It was truly awesome.

Now, I haven’t jumped on the hula hooping band wagon ... yet! I sure do want to though. I want to get one of those sparkly hula hoops ... in pink of course!

So ... for my Mom-ME Moment today, I’m going to hula hoop ... Just for the fun of it!

But since I don’t have a snazzy hoop yet, I’m just going to use my daughter’s hoop. It’s OK for a start. Frankly, I’m not expecting to do any special tricks. If I can just get it going around ... and keep it going for a few spins ... I think I’ll be happy with that.

And I’m ready for a laugh! This is gonna be fun! I hope no one’s watching as I hula hoop today. And if they are ... so what! They’ll get a laugh too!

Pick up a hoop today (even if it’s just your daughter’s) and let’s hula hoop together for our Daily Mom-ME Moment! Come on ... it'll be fun!

Enjoy!
Ro :)

Have you tried these hula hoop exercises before? How did it go? Do you have a snazzy hula hoop?

Daily Mom-ME Moment #4 - Let All Moms Enjoy Their Ice Cream!

I love ice cream!
It’s creamy ... and cool ... and sweet ... and oh so yummy!

Now that the warmer weather is here, my kids are outside playing all the time listening for that wonderful music ... YEAY! The ice cream truck is here!

You think they get excited about ice cream? Sure they do! But I think I get even more excited! Yup. I love ice cream!

For my Mom-ME Moment today, I’m going to do something I’ve never done before ... but have always wanted to do!

There’s a Dairy Queen just a few minutes up the street from us. When hubby gets home, I’m going to sneak out and take myself for ice cream! Just me.

But SHHH!!! Don’t tell my family! I’m going by myself! I want to sit and truly enjoy my ice cream.

For my Mom-ME Moment today, I’m going to ENJOY my Ice Cream!

Sneak out and take yourself for an ice cream treat tonight too! Or ... if you can't sneak out ... at least find somewhere quiet where you can enjoy a bowl of ice cream. Find a quiet corner or lock yourself in the bathroom ... do whatever you have to do to get a quiet moment to truly enjoy your ice cream today.

Let all moms band together today and eat ice cream!

I hope you enjoy today’s Daily Mom-ME Moment!
Ro :)

p.s. ... what’s your favorite ice cream? Share below ...

Daily Mom-ME Moment #3 - Pedicures For All Moms Today!

Yesterday was without question the hottest day of the year so far. I’m sure we broke some heat records ... it was that hot!

I live about an hour north of Toronto, Ontario ... so it doesn't normally get too hot around here until later in June. I was caught totally off guard with the heat when I had to wear my flip flops!

YIKES! My toes were not ready for flip flops at all!

For today’s Mom-ME Moment ... I’m sure you can guess what’s coming ...

Pedicures for all! Yeah!

If you have the means, go out and get a professional pedicure. I like to go to this great place where they have the massaging chairs that you can sit in while they work on your toes. SUPER relaxing!! But for today, I’m going to do it myself.

However ... I have the girls home with me today, and there’s nothing they like more than when mommy pulls out the BIG bucket of nail polish!!

So first I’m going to spend an hour doing my girls toes ... then I’m going to go to the only place in my house that I can get a little peace and quiet. I’m going to lock myself in my bathroom to do my toes.

So I’m off now. I think I’ll go with bright pink today. Perhaps with sparkles? Yes ... definitely with sparkles!

Take a moment and do your toes today! And be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss tomorrow’s Mom-Me Moment!

Ro :)

p.s. ... What’s your favorite toe nail polish colour? Feel free to post below ...
