We even took out all the old clothes that either didn’t fit or we just knew we were not going to wear again and put them in a big box.
Are we all set for the next step? Ok ... here we go ...
Today, for our Mom-ME Moment, we’re going to take that big box and give it to charity.
Giving to charity is an incredible thing to do. I wish I could do it more. But I do give whenever I can ... and cleaning out our closets is a real easy way to give to charity. It’s simple to do ... and it can make such a difference for others!
I send all my old clothes to a local shelter for battered women and kids. These moms and kids leave their abusive husbands (and fathers) with nothing. I feel for these ladies and I help out however I can. It must take such courage for them to walk out.
And giving to charity actually benefits you too! Why? Karma! It’s putting it out in the universe that you’re doing something good ... something positive that is helping out someone else.
The universe always pay back. That’s just the way it works. Help others and the universe will help you right back.
Who knows ... maybe it’ll be that dress that you’ve been eyeing will all of the sudden go on sale ... 70% off! Or perhaps you’ll be gifted an awesome pair of new shoes.
Give away all your old stuff ... Make room in your closet to receive new ... And watch! The universe will provide you with the new!
Every time I give away, amazing things seem to happen. And I’m certain that amazing things will happen for you too!

Yeah! I cleaned out the baby's room last week and donated 4 boxes worth of clothes. Such a good feeling.

ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. There is a kids and mom's clothes consignment shop near here that I can bring my stuff to. Actually I think they might pay a little bit for some of the stuff you bring in, a friend told me they do that. Maybe there are consignment places near you that might give you a little for giving to them? Perhaps enough to buy a new blouse..

ReplyDeleteCall me weird, but I absolutely LOVE cleaning out closets, bins, drawers, etc. And I love giving the stuff away. When I'm explaining it to my son, I tell him that we're giving things because we have more than we need, and some don't have what they need.
